Accelerate-IT Ventures (AITV) to host this year’s VC Mashup
January 16th, 2014
La Jolla, CA, January 16, 2013 – Accelerate-IT Ventures (AITV), a US-based venture capital firm focused on commercialization of IT software between the US and EMEA, will be hosting this year’s VC Mashup in La Jolla, California. The VC Mashup event, a closed doors, invite-only gathering of Venture Capitalists will be sponsored by the San Diego Venture Group and include speakers from the National Venture Capital Association, including the association’s president, Bobby Franklin.
The theme of this year’s VC Mashup event will highlight the future of Venture Capital in 2014, and the changes that face the industry in the year ahead. It’s this theme that particularly resonated with Brian Nugent and Darius Sankey, General Partners at Accelerate-IT Ventures, and was the main reason for the partnership.
“We’re excited to be hosting the VC Mashup to kick off 2014, particularly because of the next-generation themes. We call this new way of approaching venture capital ‘Venture 3.0’ and are excited to be a part of a movement that will hopefully change the face of the industry.” Nugent said.
The VC Mashup event comes one day before the main, public venture capital event known as “VC Outlook 2014.”
“Accelerate-IT Ventures will continue to support local and national venture capital groups, just as we will continue to be a part of the Venture 3.0 movement. We view this as a turning point for the industry as a whole, and are excited to see the alignment from the NVCA.” said Sankey.
